She had previously been a reporter for NBC News and National Public Radio's All Things Considered. Her most-sold New York Times books include Hunting Charles Manson, The Quest for Justice. Lis Wehl was born in Yakima located in Washington. She received her diploma from the Yakima's West Valley High School. The year 1983 was the time she graduated with the degree of Bachelor's from Barnard College Columbia University. In 1985, she earned her MA in literature from Queensland University.
